Harmutty, 26 April 2025 – A heartwarming new chapter began yesterday at St Xavier’s School, Harmutty, as the school joyfully welcomed its newest and tiniest members—the Nursery students—into its vibrant educational family.
The Initiation Ceremony was meticulously arranged under the graceful leadership of Sr Regina Bosco SCC, the Senior Vice Principal, with wholehearted support from the Nursery and KG teachers. Their dedicated efforts ensured a smooth, warm, and welcoming atmosphere for both parents and children alike.
The morning was filled with smiles, laughter, and vibrant performances. A few graceful dances by talented students set a cheerful and festive tone, captivating the parents and guests.
The highlight of the day was the inspiring address by Fr Benny James SDB, Principal of St Xavier’s School, who warmly welcomed the new students and their families. In his speech, he said:
“Today marks not just the start of academic learning, but the beginning of a formation—a formation of hearts, minds, and spirits. At St Xavier’s, we believe education is about forming the whole person, walking in the footsteps of Don Bosco.”
He emphasized the school’s mission to nurture not only bright minds but also kind hearts and strong characters, creating “good Christians and honest citizens.”
Adding a local and heartfelt touch, Madam Nilakshi welcomed the participants in Assamese, making everyone feel at home and part of the St Xavier’s family.
Following the formal ceremony, the little ones were led to their classrooms where they were greeted with chocolates and refreshments, creating joyful first memories in their new learning environment.
The ceremony concluded with a gracious Vote of Thanks delivered by Sr Regina Bosco SCC, expressing gratitude to all the parents, teachers, and staff who made the day so special.
The Initiation Ceremony 2025 truly captured the spirit of Don Bosco—where every child is a treasure, every parent a partner, and every day a new opportunity to dream and to grow.
Welcome aboard, dear little Xaverians!

Very well done. Of course this day will be marking the first footprints of their journey of education which will transform them the way we look forward for their future. I pray to the almighty that He guides them all the time, in every step to become good citizen of our country 🙏👌
