Harmutty, 8 March 2025 – Despite being immersed in final examinations, St Xavier’s School, Harmutty, ensured that International Women’s Day was celebrated with joy and appreciation. To mark the occasion, the teachers gathered for a cake-cutting ceremony after the examination in the exam room.
A specially prepared bluish cake, symbolizing the spirit of the day, was cut by all the lady teachers of the school. Given the large number of female staff, instead of each holding a knife, they held onto each other, allowing those in the center to cut the cake and share it among all the staff members.
Before the cake-cutting, Fr Benny James SDB, the Principal of the school, addressed the gathering, extending his heartfelt wishes to all the lady teachers on International Women’s Day. He also recalled this year’s theme: “For ALL Women and Girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment.”
A few photos were captured to commemorate the event, ensuring that the occasion remained a cherished memory. The Principal, in his brief speech, also expressed his gratitude to the female staff for their dedication and invaluable service to the institution.

Lovely and very much pleasing. Felt really given special place for women in the school, accepted and appreciated their contribution to the growth of the mission in moulding the children for the bright future. It gave immense joy for all the lady teachers to go forward bravely to be more generous in their endeavours. Thank you Father for your support , encouragement and recognition.in whatever we do.
